Sometimes when we’re on a very tight budget, it’s quite difficult to eat healthily. Some people are unable to buy local or organic foods, but that’s ok, you can still have a relatively healthy clean diet without having to buy expensive foods. If you can get organic and local produce on sale for cheap, even better.
The key to healthy clean eating is to get as much fresh produce & real food as possible. Also, foods with no chemicals and few ingredients in them.
As an experiment, I took $20 and bought groceries with it from various places around the city, mostly close to where I live. I wanted to see how much healthy food I could purchase for this amount. If you live in a larger city, this will be relatively easy to do as there are so many independent grocery and ethnic stores around.
